Fall Series 1: Today's Levitation

Today's Levitation #1

For my Fall Series, I want to photograph levitating pictures inspired by Natsumi Hayashi. She achieves her levitations by "floating" effortlessly and naturally in Tokyo's everyday scenes. When I began shooting, I realize that it is very difficult to have a natural pose and expression. Sometimes, my poses show a jumping posture instead of a floating one. I hope that I will be able to find some exciting, bright, and cheerful backgrounds (as Hayashi has done) when I create my next series. I had to manually adjust the exposure and shutter (either 1/2500 or 1/3200) for each scene to ensure that the pictures are not too blurry or dark. In this post, I asked my mom and friends to press the camera button. For my upcoming series, I hope that I will be able to emulate the levitating tones and emotions, as Hayashi has done.

  1. The photos where you are able to catch certain poses in the air are really cool. My question is who was taking the pictures?

  2. The levitations are very good, particularly the mood is light and dreamy.
